Abstract
In 2010, Brazil experienced three events that generated strong repercussions for its communication environment. In its own way, the consequences of each of these events influenced the field of communications. These events include: the presidential election victory of Dilma Roussef, the first female President and the successor to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva ́s Workers’ Party (PT) administration; Brazil ́s economic stability in the face of the international economic crisis; and the emergence of the so-called “new class C” with the entrance of 30 million Brazilians in the labor and consumer markets. The significance of these events will be examined in the analysis that follows. These facts’ importance will be realized along the analysis that follows.
