Abstract

The goal of this article is to make a systematic review of the Episodic Buffer component introduced in the Baddeley's Working Memory Model in 2000, as a way to respond to some serious critics post to the working memory model. We will explore the concept and how it has been researched trough the last decade, making a review of the most relevant literature. Binding and chunking processes will be explored with particular detail.
