Abstract
This paper shows how four dimensions of citizenship behaviors of teachers (participatory behavior, practical orientation, conscientiousness and courtesy) explain the motivation of the students and the global performance score given by them to their teachers. The sample comprises 1201 students from 12 schools. The data suggest the following: (a) confirmatory factor analysis shows that the four-factor model of citizenship behaviors fits the data well; (b) the four dimensions explain 40% of the variance of the global performance score and 57% of the variance of the students motivation; (c) this empirical pattern tends to confirm the abundant evidence already obtained in the domain of higher education and some empirical evidence extracted from a study on the secondary level.
