Abstract
A presente Folha Informativa visa contribuir para aprofundar o conhecimento sobre os desafios do envelhecimento populacional para as políticas sociais em Portugal. Num primeiro momento aborda-se a questão do envelhecimento demográfico na sociedade portuguesa, havendo ainda espaço para uma breve reflexão sobre os potenciais riscos sociais para a população idosa num futuro próximo. Num segundo momento, procurar-se-á debater o papel das redes informais e formais de apoio aos idosos, conferindo finalmente um especial enfoque à resposta social “Estrutura Residencial para Pessoas Idosas” (ERPI).
This fact sheet aims to contribute to deepen knowledge about the challenges of the population aging for policies in Portugal. In a first moment the issue of aging is addressed demographic in Portuguese society, with there is still space for a brief reflection on the social risks for the elderly population in a near future. In a second step, look for a debater or a role for information and formal networks support for the elderly, finally providing a special focus on the social response “Structure Residential for Elderly People ”(ERPI).
