Abstract

The Catholic Nursing Centre (CNC - Centro de Enfermagem da Catolica) is an extension service of Institute of Health Sciences in Porto (IHS-Porto) of The Catholic University of Portugal. It collaborates in extension service, through the provision of services, support to teaching and research. In order to describe the CNC development and its innovative teaching and research strategy the authors analysed documents and other records of the period from 2007 to 2017. As results we can verify that 12 projects were active during the analysed period and that community intervention was the most developed area of the CNC. CNC registered more than 6000 activities for over than 70000 participants. As conclusion, in CNC emerges innovative experience and support for teaching, students and community.
