Abstract
Introduction: The conspiracy of silence takes place with some frequency in the clinical practice, configuring an ethical dilemma. Objectives: To do a reflection, from a bioethical point of view, on a clinical case of conspiracy of silence in an end-of-life patient. Material and methods: Based on bibliographical research in both articles and books, a bioethical analysis of a clinical case was carried out. Results: Ethical reflection shows us that the four bioethical principles have implications not only for care practice, but also for family dynamics. Conclusions: The conspiracy of silence is a problem present in practical care that compromises the bioethical principles and patient’s rights.
