Abstract

In Portugal, guidelines support policies and regulations that higher education Institutions have already instituted and published to safeguard the inclusion of students with difficulties and/or disabilities in higher education. This article revisits previously published studies and presents narratives collected by the author, with the aim of contributing to the understanding of the need for differentiated assistance for students with Dyslexia in higher education. The narratives published in this article allow us to conclude that difficulties expressed by students with Dyslexia up to high school education continue in higher education and reinforce the need to adopt procedures that encourage higher education students to reveal that they have dyslexia and higher education teachers to adopt practices that contribute to the personal, academic and professional success of these students.
