Abstract
Usually Khaos is seen as not much more than a menace to the order that keeps the world in its being. The thesis that informs this text is that the most important function of Khaos is to be the absolute source from which everything else springs, that is to say that Khaos is mainly the ontological basis of the world, rather than just its promised doom. This possibility of doom persists, but everything that comes out of such a primordial reality carries within itself both the seeds of doom and the seeds of salvation. This double fundamental heritage is that which permits the dialectical development of the world.
