Abstract

The main concern of this research is to describe and analyse the system of assessment in the general Practice Course of the FCML. We found out that outcomes of performance assessment are higher than outcomes of knowledge assessment; there is no variability in the students’ outcomes through five years; in knowledge assessment, female students have higher o outcomes than male students. In performance assessment, we didn’t found out any interaction of tutor gender and student gender. The final classification reflects, mainly, summative assessment outcomes. In order to increase the weight of the formative assessment, over the summative, we suggest that tutors should have preparation in pedagogic and supervising techniques as well as training in the use of assessment instruments.
