Abstract

This article will address the technological transformations we have seen in the media and launch clues to the future of journalism and entertainment, questioning whether there is a barrier between the two formats. The period of reflection under analysis comprises the last fifteen years of action research (2004-2019). On the one hand, it performs a theoretical re-view of the communication models and, on the other, it observes the practice of the activity of journalism in action, that is, in the field. This is an action investigation, using an auto--ethnographic technique, based on the celebration of the fifteen years of graduates of the journalism class at the Catholic University of Santos (UniSantos), where a debate took place on the premises of the Dom Idílio José Campus Soares, in December 2019, in partnership with the Giusfredo Santini Chair. In the debate, clues were launched to cross journalism with entertainment through the possibilities that new information and communication te-chnologies allow, unveiling a very fine line between these two formats. The investigation crosses the bibliographic review of Communication Sciences with an action investigation, proposing seven properties of the exercise of journalism in Brazil that crosses information and entertainment in the relationship between technologies and content production.
