Abstract

The purpose of this article is to draw attention to a new way of thinking the business model: the Circular Economy, which is the paradigm of the system of the future, in contrast with the current linear model. The linear model is becoming threatened due to the limited availability of natural resources and the Planet's limits in terms of assimilation capacity of the pollution generated. The Circular Economy stimulates new management practices and reveals new opportunities, creating value to firms in harmony with the environment. As a source of innovation in terms of products, processes and business model, and by reducing the demand for natural resources with the recovery of waste, this new sustainability paradigm opens excellent perspectives to be considered by firms as leverage and motivation for solid and sustained growth, together with competitive advantages in a dynamic global market. The method used is the literature review. Although the concept exists in the literature, it is urgent to implement it in the real world, which would have positive economic, environmental and social impacts, such that the idea that economic growth is inevitably harmful to the environment starts being definitely an idea of the past
