Entre a pobreza e a marginalidade: mendigos e vagabundos no Alto Minho de oitocentos

During the 19th century, the conception of vagrant and beggar was evolving as the changes that have occurred in how they were perceived by society. The goal of our analysis is, fundamentally, characterize the beggars and vagrants who roamed for the Alto Minho and know the mechanisms used by the 19th century State for the distinction between true and false poor and, if necessary, to grant support to the needy.
