Abstract
This study analyses the implications of parents’ working conditions on families with entrepreneurs in the attribution of supports to university students in Brazil and Portugal. These supports directly influence in the frequency of university attendance of students from vulnerable social groups. The research is both, qualitative and quantitative using tests in order to validate the working hypothesis. The analysis suggests there are influences of the parents’ working situation in the students’ enrollment condition and conclusion in the regular time. This study offers contributions not only to the knowledge about the entrepreneurs’ profile in both countries, but also to social policy as well as to the Social Work practice in this field.
