Abstract
The study on "Youth political participation in Portugal: Results of an online survey and focus groups with young people", carried out as part of the "Politically Awake" project promoted by the National Youth Council (CNJ), focuses on the specificities of youth political participation and on understanding its contemporary patterns. The ultimate goal of the study is to make recommendations that foster the political participation of young people in order to respond to the problems of emancipation they face and to improve democratic life in Portugal. The study was requested by the CNJ and funded by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Bissaya Barreto Foundation, as part of the programme 'Cidadãos Ativos'.
