Abstract

Recently, research in Operations Management best practice has began to shift its interest from the justification of the value of those practices to the understanding of the contextual conditions under which they are bound to work - contingency research. This article brings together and tries to clarify a number of relevant themes related to contingency research on OM practice, offering preliminary theoretical and research design foundations for conducting comprehensive contingency research.
