Abstract
Families are agents of primary socialisationthat influence the system of beliefs and attitudes regarding the perception of self and others, being crucial for the development of inclusive identity(ies) since childhood. Using the identification of cultural characteristics based on uncertainty avoidance, principles of resilience and the consideration of transnational fam ilies as an exam ple to study interculturality, this paperintendsto reflect on diversity as an advantage. It is suggested thatthe creation of em pathy reducessocial prejudicesand thereby engenders a future with m ore equity.
