Abstract

Felipe de Solms was a filmmaker born in Madrid in 1916. Solms was involved in political disputes between francoism’s supporters and his opponents. He worked in France under the Nazi occupation and after a judicial process in the Spanish courts, he settled in Portugal. There he developed a great film production, making dozens of films, many of them also filmed in the Portuguese colonies in Africa, especially in Angola and Mozambique. At the end of his life, he settled in the south of France, near Cannes, where he died.
