Abstract

Late Afternoon in Alentejo is an aesthetic essay on the primary sources of the art of cinema: light, movement, sound and pretense. Using the Alentejo landscape as a canvas and the film camera as an instrument for the expression of an original look, a cinematographic structure is created organized around references to the history of cinema, a revisitation of forms, styles and models that made cinema and its more direct antecedents: photography, painting, music, theater.
