Abstract

We present a descriptive case study of the decision-making process during the development of a set of interactive story apps designed to promote intercultural dialogue directed to young children. We address: (i) the decisions made in the development of the story apps; and (ii) how the development process may contribute to informing new developments. Our results corroborate but also amplify the importance of core aspects in the development of story apps: (i) interdisciplinarity; (ii) multimodality; (iii) meaningful approach to interactivity; (iv) inclusion of complementary elements to the story. We argue that this study brings concreteness to theoretical claims, informing developments regarding the addressed dimensions.
