Abstract

In a society as complex as the one we live in today, structurally unjust, ideologically and religiously plural, globalized, scientifically powerful, but vulnerable and dominated by capitalist rationality, the Society of Jesus feels called, also through its universities, to promote dialogue, social justice, e personal empowerment. To do so, UNIJES, the Network of University Centers linked to the Society of Jesus, started in 2010 an Ignatian teacher training process that aims to prepare teachers to use Ignatian pedagogy in their universities and classrooms. From the study and reflection on the principles of Ignatian pedagogy, it stimulates a transformational learning experience based on a broader reflection on one's own practices and role in the institution, with the aim of improving not only teaching, but also the person.
