Inclusão digital de pessoas idosas: um estudo de caso utilizando computadores desktop e tablets

Abstract

The study aimed to analyze the interaction of a group of elderly people using personal computers and tablets in digital inclusion project. The methodology used was exploratory and qualitative research. The sample of the project was composed of 18 people aged between 60 and 75 years with no previous contact with computer and a median age of 67.22 years without physical limitations, all literate. The study was divided into two phases. At first they previously learned basic computer, navigation and communication on the Internet, and basic process of texts using desktop computers. In the second phase, they freely explored the tablets to perform the same tasks that performed on PCs. Among the results, the elderly users highlighted the ease of performing the tasks in the Tablet and the ease of access to specific applications for mobile devices.
