Abstract

The digitization of management processes is a central dimension of organizational innovation, particularly in rural sectors where management practices with limited technological integration persist, such as dairy farm management. Using a descriptive case study, the digital innovation process that led to the development of the BestCoopMed platform is presented. The platform, managed by a confederation of farmers, was built through iterative cycles inspired by agile methodologies, involving various players. This digital solution was designed to collect and transform productive, technical, and economic data from dairy farms into a benchmarking and decision-support resource. Analysis of the features of the version going into production shows that the BestCoopMed platform is promising in its contribution to control and decision-making processes, providing economic efficiency, reducing recording errors, and strengthening the strategic planning capacity of dairy farms. Future opportunities for development have also been identified, including integration with IoT, partial automation of data collection expansion to other agricultural sectors, and the incorporation of environmental and social perspectives.
