Abstract

Jordan and Syria face serious problems related to available water resources, climate change and environmental quality. These problems require innovative engineering approaches that take into account the particularity of local situations in which projects are to be implemented. The EGREEN project (573927-EPP-1-2016-1-JO-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP) aims to ensure that universities in Jordan and Syria can deliver a high-quality education that is compatible with European standards in line with market needs of the emerging knowledge society, strengthening the environmental area using distance education. In addition, EGREEN intends to introduce the concept of climate change to train professional leaders who can meet the market needs of the country, as well as develop and integrate into the degree programs an appropriate laboratory component in environmental technologies at the universities of Jordan and Syria and aligned with the requirements of Bologna
