Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a reality in everyday life worldwide. While it is responsible for many benefits for society, this technology, when unregulated, may also negatively impact on fundamental rights. As a result, for some years now, different actors in society have been debating ways to regulate AI. At first, the initiatives created were soft law, with the stipulation of ethical standards and principles, added to national strategies. However, in the current scenario, the implementation of binding regulations is discussed, to create minimum operating requirements, rights, and other obligations. Therefore, the purpose of the present work is to explore the possibilities of regulating AI, considering an ethical-legal approach.
