Abstract
Historians of nursing are promoting claims to revisit and rethink to rewrite the history of nursing. This paper, reviews the method and some procedures in historical research, where access to sufficient and high quality sources is of vital importance. If we wish to be read by a larger audience, nursing needs a new approach in the definition of historical questions and a new search for meanings.
