Abstract
This article addresses digital footprint, and reflects on the need of raising awareness among students, parents and teachers of the impact- more or less positive- that digital footprints, left by each individual in their interactions on the Internet, can have in their future life. Then, we describe the risks young people who have an e-life on social networks, and present guidelines for its prevention. Finally, we reflect on the network ask.fm, an open social network that has gained wide acceptance among young Portuguese.
