Abstract
This paper analyses the distinction XXV (q. 1, a. 1) of the first Book of the Commentary on sentences by St. Bonaventure. In this dispute, Bonaventure studies the quiddity of the name 'person'. Especially, he asks the question: Whether the name 'person' among the divine is said according to substance, or whether it is said according to relation? Bonaventure takes the arguments both and concludes integrating the positions. We try to show that in this conclusion is manifested the Bonaventure's metaphysics, integrating quiddity and signification.
