Abstract

This essay, based on the text of a doctoral thesis in theology, aims to provide the key elements of a fundamental-theological reflection on the philosophical intuitions about longing, which is an emotional and spiritual disposition peculiarly expressed within the cultural environment of Portugal and Galicia. Besides indentifying its contextual reason, the essay offers a sort of travel journal of the author’s journey, from the very first concern to the writing of the dissertation itself. Following the presentation of structure, method and fundamental intuitions of the thesis, a brief openness of the thought to new possible approaches is made, but this time in a more poetic tone.
