Abstract
Education and higher education policies acknowledge the importance of mediated learning in the complex process of development of the education chain: from information management to the construction of knowledge and wisdom to act accordingly. This research study presents some assumptions of the need for mediation and follow-up, and summarizes the roles of different strategies (mentoring, coaching, tutorship, personal projects pedagogical advice, pedagogical supervision), taking into account their points of convergence. This critical conceptual discussion becomes relevant in current debates about the academic curriculum and the personal/ professional development.
