Abstract

Considering the important role of technology in the teaching and learning process, the project Mobeybou -Moving Beyond Boundaries -Designing Narrative Learning in The Digital Era, from the University of Minho (Portugal),has been researching about digital tools and materials, aiming to provide the development of cognitive, social and linguistic skills in children, from a multimodal and multicultural perspective. In a partnership with this project, our research team, formed by professors and students of the Language Teacher Education Program at IFRS in Osório, Brazil, through the study of the materials developed by the group in Portugal, has designed activities for teaching reading at elementary and middle school. Focused on teaching and learning English language and culture in Brazil, our proposal takes into account the stages of pre-reading, reading and post-reading, based on the app Mobeybou -Brazil. Within this context, this paper reports on the application of a set of lesson plans designed for an English language course for children. These activities have provided practical teaching experiences and insights involving technology, language learning, narratives and cultural elements, important items that can benefit the students in their development of narrative, digital, multimodal and multicultural skills.
