O comando operacional do chefe do estado-maior general das Forças Armadas sobre a Guarda Nacional Republicana no estado de sítio

This paper aims to analyze the operational command of the Armed Forces Chief of Staff over the National Republican Guard during the state of exception namely the State of Siege, through a descriptive approach and the deductive method. It was concluded that this specific command needs preventive approaches in dimensions such education, training and instruction, armament and equipment as well as military planning. It also suggests further studies on the existence of a liaison cell or a figure similar to a Liaison Officer for the National Republican Guard into the Joint Command for Military Operations of the General Staff with the aim of strengthening relations; of the integration of the General Commander of the National Republican Guard into the Supreme Council of National Defense, the Supreme Military Council and the Chiefs of Staff Council, in specific matters, as well as the individual reference of the National Republican Guard in the Strategic Concept of National Defense and the Military Strategic Concept.
