Abstract
In this essay a holistic and pluridisciplinar approach has been used to reach an answer to the following fundamental question: “how can this phenomenon be characterized and how it’s expressed currently?” and is organized in four sections. The first concerns insurgency and its present characteristics; the second emphases its causes and the third tries to highlight some possible typologies. Finally, one identifies and systematises the premises that follow the phenomenon of insurgency.T
