Abstract
Based on the description and analysis of the course and current trends in Family Law, in the legal and cultural space into which Portuguese law is integrated, this text reflects on the new paradigms of legal regulation of family relations. It emphasises the problems they raise for juridical thought, highlighting the neopositivism present in an approach on the laws of the Family, that is predominantly focused on individual rights and affections disregarding the community dimension.
