Abstract
In the prefatory letters to his Latin version of De Dea Syria, Jorge Coelho reveals to have amplified the story of Antiochus and Seleucus, in order to improve Lucian’s Greek text. The purpose of this paper is therefore to analyse the most significant alterations undertaken by Jorge Coelho and to confront them with other Renaissance recreations of the theme of Seleucus.
