Obras Portuenses da Década de 20 (The Portuense Works of the 1920s) is a project developed by Sonoscopia for "Cultura em Expansão," a program by the Porto City Council that seeks to decentralize and diversify the cultural offerings in the city. Since 2021, four annual commissions are given to Porto-based composers, or those strongly connected to the city, to uniquely portray their vision and listening experience of the city. Due to the territorial specifics of "Cultura em Expansão," each composer is assigned to one of the program's intervention zones – Bouça, Pasteleira, Miragaia, and Campanhã. The works are developed in close collaboration with the Supernova Ensemble, a formation chosen for their participatory approach to each piece. We feel and hear the city today to contemplate tomorrow.
