Abstract

This paper presents the essential elements of the multicapability theory of inco-me distribution. This theory tries to understand a nurmber of labor market phenomena by decomposing labor services into those srising from a number of different capabilities. It explains job wage rates from prices of capabilites and the shape of the income distribution form assumptions on the distribution of capabilities and on labor supply behavior. Empirical support for the theory is also outlined.
