Abstract
The possession of objects of silver and goldsmithing by the populations of the region of Ponta Delgada (São Miguel island, Azores) is witnessed by the inventories, one of the most important sources for the knowledge of the existing pieces and their owners. Ornaments made only of gold, or using pearls and inorganic gems, embody earrings, necklaces, strings, rings or religious pendants, some of the main typologies identified. In the silverware, the presence of cutlery stands out, following the evolution in the habits of sociability, as well as of the main piece of representation of the elites, the ewer and the basin.
