Abstract
This study aimed to explore the intra and interindividual development of parental self-efficacy and family collective efficacy of parents of adolescents, who are attending secondary school. A sample of 139 parents expressed their beliefs by filling up the Perceived Parental Self-Efficacyand the Perceived Family Collective Efficacyscales, in a two-waves study. The results revealed that at the intraindividual level, the parents’ beliefs of parental self-efficacy remained stable, while the family collective efficacy presented a slightly decrease. At the interindividual level, there was only a slight difference between mothers and fathers, i.e., mothers expressed a greater sense of parental self-efficacy and collective family efficacy than fathers, in both moments.
