Pelas rotas dramáticas da liberdade: Uma aproximação aos últimos escritos de Hans Urs von Balthasar

O inferno (uma possível condenação eterna para quem se fechou por completo a Deus, ao amor e à relação, na perda de si mesmo) é uma das questões escatológica que, na atualidade, tem sido objeto de uma profunda revisão teológica. Hans Urs von Bal- thasar foi, por ventura, o teólogo católico contemporâneo que levou mais a fundo uma re exão sobre a possibilidade da tragédia da liberdade humana no horizonte «sempre maior» da liberdade divina, na assimetria entre o dom de Deus (a graça) e a resposta humana. A re exão que apresentamos tem como base a publicação em português dos últimos escritos de von Balthasar em que clari ca, não sem polémica e escândalo para as hostes ultraconservadoras, a sua posição teológica sobre o inferno. Procuramos evidenciar como Balthasar se afasta da certeza agostiniana de uma condenação eterna, que tem predominado na teologia e na pregação da Igreja latina, e se abre, na sequência da teologia ortodoxa e da mística católica, a uma esperança de salvação para todos. O seu esclarecimento teológico tem o seu fundamento na teodramática de Cristo que, em sua obediência até à morte e morte de cruz (cf. Fl 2,8), experimenta e supera (redime) a «infernal» distância que separa o pecador do Deus santo. ABSTRACT The Hell (a possible everlasting condemnation for whom having closed himself completely to God, love and relationship, in the loss of oneself) is one of the eschatological questions that today has been being subject of a profound theological revision. Hans Urs von Balthasar was, eventually, the contemporary Catholic theologian who carried out a re ection on the possibility of the tragedy of human freedom, in the horizon «ever greater» of the divine freedom, on the asymmetry between the gift of God (the Grace) and the human response. The re ection we present is based on the publication in Portuguese of the last writings of von Balthasar in which he clari es, not without controversy and scandal for the ultraconservative hosts, his theological position about Hell. We try to show how Balthasar gets distance from the Augustinian certainty of an eternal condemnation, which has prevailed in theology and in the preaching of the Latin Church, and opens, in the sequence of orthodox theology and the Catholic mystic, to a hope of salvation for all. Its theological clari cation has its foundation in the Theo-drama of Christ that, in its obedience until the death and death of the cross (Phil 2: 8), experiences and overcomes (redeems) the «infernal» distance that separates the sinner from God Holy.
