Abstract
Anxiety disorders are one of the most common psychiatric conditions of childhood and adolescence, which leads to a reduction on the child’s overall academic, family and social functioning, as well as an increased risk for life-long comorbid psychiatric disorders. The aim of the present study was to compare the perception of children and their parents regarding the prevalence of anxiety disorders and possible associated factors. Our study involved all students of the 5th year of the Grão Vasco School Group and their parents.
