Podcast: a powerful web tool for learning history

Abstract

The technology of podcasting has reached the Society of Information and is modifying the way teachers teach and learners learn inside and outside the classroom. This paper focuses on the use of podcasts in educational contexts to promote learning. Some pedagogical potentialities of podcasts are presented, followed by an experiment with 9th grade pupils in History class. Finally, pupils' opinion about podcasts creation and use is also reported.
