Abstract
After a brief introduction of historical context, it is the purpose of this paper to present some conclusions relating to the stated theme, giving account, namely, of one reference to the Italian botanist and physician Pietro Andrea Mattioli who wrote the Apologia against his Portuguese contemporary Amatus Lusitanus.
