Proteção Social: o papel das instituições sem fins lucrativos: Proteção Social, Mutualismo, Misericórdias e Segurança Social

A proteção social é o conjunto de sistemas de apoio que permitem que cada indivíduo ou família possa fazer face ao longo de suas vidas às consequências da ocorrência de um risco ou uma necessidade social. Estes riscos sociais podem resultar em perda de rendimento ou aumento de despesas para alguns. Todos esses esquemas de apoio incentivam a atividade e contribuem para a preservação do capital humano dos portugueses. Pretende-se fazer uma retrospetiva histórica com base no contributo das instituições sem fins lucrativos no desenvolvimento e progresso da proteção social em Portugal. Social protection is the set of support systems that allow each individual or family to face the consequences of the occurrence of a risk or a social need throughout their lives. These social risks can result in lost income or increased expenses for some. All of these support schemes encourage activity and contribute to the preservation of the human capital of the Portuguese. It is intended to make a historical retrospective based on the contribution of non-profit institutions in the development and progress of social protection in Portugal.
