Abstract

Based on the analysis grid of the Nicknamen International research project (coordinated by Peter Schlobinski and Torsten Siever), which will be described in our article, the results obtained in the classification of the types of names in Spanish nicknames will be presented and commented on. For reasons of space, the results of other language categories analysed will only be discussed in the concluding section. In the classification of names, it will be analysed whether the nickname is a real name (first name and/or surname(s)) or a pseudonym (analysable or not). The results will be compared with others obtained from analyses of nicknames in other languages, namely German and Portuguese.
