Abstract

This paper aims at doing a literature review to present the current knowledge about factors that influence the success of the restorative procedures of endodontically treated teeth. The basic search process included a systematic review of the PubMed/Medline database for dental journals between 1985 and 2010 using single or combined key words to obtain the most comprehensive list of references. Some references of relevant papers (references of the references) completed the review. Conclusions of the minimal tissue sacrifice, especially in the cervical area, so that a ferrule effect can be created are drawn.
