Revolution: an audio-visual essay

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

The body is the primary catalyst for mapping material and immaterial space within performance; it targets through movement, emotion and passion in both the physical and virtual MMOG world. Software and hardware have transformed into a source for mediation and interface in performance art. For my project Revolution (started in New York, 2016), I created a manifesto to emancipate everyone from the oppression that we live through daily. Mediums chosen to convey the message are in-person performances, virtual performances and videos (MMOG, street, galleries, conferences), installations, daily newspapers advertising a revolution. But in all of those cases, we banded together in the spirit of activism to achieve acceptance and equality of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation and freedom of lifestyle. How these performances differ in MMOG and the future of MMOG performance art is the subject of this discussion.
