Abstract

The film programme “If Cinema is a Weapon”, presented at the Batalha Film Centre in Spring 2024, provided the set-up for a discussion on identity, power and resistance. From a post-colonialist perspective, the films revealed latent gestures that are intertwined with a demand for disappearance as a fundamental condition for questioning power structures.
