Abstract

The study presented here aims to address two issues, namely: are Catholicism and spiritualism compatible and complementary in their foundations and practices? In the categories of Logic (as a harmonious use of valid reasoning), is simultaneous indoctrination in Catholicism and spiritualism compatible? This analysis is situated within the Brazilian religious context, where traditions such as Spiritism and Umbanda, which combine Christian elements with spiritualist ones, play a significant role. The article recognizes this diversity and proposes a reflection that takes these realities into account, seeking to understand how different worldviews influence religious practice and the faithful's vision of the world.By confronting these distinct realities in their essence and language, the adopted methodology proposes a synthesis of key concepts, clarifying the differences between both traditions. Furthermore, the study aims to offer concrete answers to central questions, such as the possibility of reconciliation between resurrection and reincarnation, and how these beliefs shape human understanding of life, death, and what comes after.
