Abstract
The authors present the results of a qualitative study on the impact of Elderly Day Care Centers closure in the pandemic context. The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic forced several organizations and institutions to adapt to the new contexts of social risk. Our data revealed that all subjects experienced changes in their daily lives, highlighting the lack of social interaction, feelings of loneliness and sadness, as well as the need to adapt to new routines, like meals, image care, social contacts and leisure activities. The dimension of spirituality and religiosity is underlined for its significance, on the one hand due to its importance on personal confinement, and on the other due to the limited religious practices allowed. The current pandemic has also required changes in the work practice of social workers in day care centers.
