Abstract
Current studies on the history of thought emphasize the importance of 15th century, concerning the change of the mental universe experienced in the West. It is indeed a change with spatial impact and also a temporal change. Tis change is displayed in a very special way during the 16th century. Te efervescence of ideas, thoughts and philosophies of the frst half of the century requires a channel with the context of a new Europe, dominated by the emerging nationalities and their monarchies (especially the Hispanic). Tis situation entails fnding a theory of the historical time, not only able to unify its meaning from a new understanding of Christendom, an eschatological time (“already and not yet”), but also capable of founding “a new heaven and a new earth” (Rev. 21: 1). In this context we presents the work of the Blessed Amadeo da Silva, religious of the Order of St. Francis of Observance, Apocalypse Nova. Itwas very important for the project of the New World, which is built in Europebut carried out in the New World. Te Apocalypse Nova assumes a project towards the completion of the Catholic World, a chance for political redemption, the primacy of Christ embodiedin a political project which will fght in Europe and will extend itself in the utopian New World.
